Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid was an Iraqi born British architect. She was the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize, in 2004. She received the UK's most prestigious architectural award, the Stirling Prize, in 2010 and 2011.
Hadid became famous for her intensely futuristic architecture characterised by curving façades and sharp angles and was famously the designer of the London Aquatics centre for the London Olympics, Guangzhou Opera House, China and The MAXXI Museum, Rome.
