Cattelan is most recently renowned for taping a banana to the wall at Art Basel Miami Beach and subsequently getting removed from the exhibition because the art piece caused unsafe crowding. The concept of that piece sold for $120k per banana (with tape) and drew focus to the question of what art is and what it means.
We'd recommend you spending some time deep diving into the detail around that art piece. We here at ANA think it was a beautiful concept.
The photographer Pierpaolo is equally awesome and you can find him taking the portraits of Hollywood actresses and directors, as well as directing the print adverts of Armani, amongst other professional pursuits.
TOILETPAPER is a biannual magazine and joint venture for the pair that showcases some seriously uncanny images that are carefully considered by the artists to be considered to fit the "Toiletpaper" curation. This book here is a bumper limited edition showcasing a vast array of the curated images from the magazines.
