Cattelan is most recently renowned for taping a banana to the wall at Art Basel Miami Beach and subsequently getting removed from the exhibition because the art piece caused unsafe crowding. The concept of that piece sold for $120k per banana (with tape) and drew focus to the question of what art is and what it means.
